I really need to make these more often. I love working on them and working out my own pattern. This was inspired by red cliff but I used the Dynasty Warriors designs to make my own little Kongming aka Zhuge Liang.

I am horrible about updating this journal. I really am, I had a birthday a few weeks back and got some wonderful gifts. From Melissa my roomate I got a doll and the most excellent tea maker! Its the trinitea by adagio. Honestly its allowed me to continue my adventures in to the world of tea. This was started with Argo tea moved in to the sears tower. I have since become nearly obsessive with it. Trying all different kinds. I'm going to have to re order my kitchen because my tea spot went from a row to a shelf. I'm edging out my roomates popcorn.

Two years ago, I thought I knew something about tea... being that I knew there was a difference between bag tea and loose tea. I have come to realize I should have been clubbed with a diffuser untill I realized my tea noobishness. For anyone who knows anything about tea this story should explain it all.

My friend Jen and I took a trek down to a local tea shop. I at this point was only familiar really with good old english black teas. She decided and after we poked around at a few teas to try dragon pearls (pheonix pearls, green pearls etc) which are leaves rolled by hand, in this case with a jasmine bud between them. Having no idea and no steeping instructions beyond ... not boiling. we brought the pot to a boil emptied about a table spoon in to the bottom filled the cups and watched. about 10 minutes later we decided to try it... keeping in mind green tea has now steeped for 10 minutes. It was HORRIBLE... I of course now realize exactly how special that event was.

This morning i tried white tea from Argo which is white tea, pink pepper and apple bits. Its very smooth and slightly sweet. I have a bad habit of still adding sugar to my tea but its becoming less and less. It also has almost no aftertaste which is always nice. I may have to try more white teas.

for anyone confused Dywo is just my name for any amigarumi as I can not say the word to save my life, so I just call them dywos which is short for my chibi dynasty warriors i started making. The rest just stuck.... My friend gave me a link to the side Otto:or up with dead people which is a just hilarious movie in my opinion. Its weird and odd and mostly about gay zombies.

However its hard not to love the main zombie Otto in all his scrawny charm.

So here he is. and yes his head is at an angle for a reason... He shuffles through the movie looking terribly confused.

I just got a new wig for Milk from Sewaddicted. I had to kind of talk her in to trying the dye job, and even offered to buy it even if it went horridly wrong. Well milks face totally clashed so I decided to change his faceup.

Admittedly, in most things artistic my learning curve is pretty fast, because i have done so many artistic things, and I can mimic what I see. I'm EXCELLENT but I can get something to passable in a decently fast time. But working on faceups has been a lesson in humbling, its taken me over a year of doing faceups pretty often to get to where I am now. (see Azulen)... However if you want HUMBLING. I just got my new airbrush yesterday and DAMN do I Suck!!! My poor practice head has um... several new kinds of skin conditions directly related to my inability to figure out how to mix paint.

Also

Distance + Air Pressure + Paint consistancy + constant movement = My ass being kicked.


and I'm loving every damn moment of it. I forgot how much I love to learn new things.
